What Causes Intermittent Hot Flashes In Body And Heaviness In Leg?

I m 47 and have been having intermittent brief hot flashes for the last two weeks and as well heavy legs again... I have had the heavy legs (while standing/walking) for a long time now - over a year.... My mom didn t start menopause until her early 50 s... just wondering if I have started perio-menopause now? I also experienced hot flashes last summer, but they only lasted for a month or so... I m also usually very cold - when others are warm, and take daily iron supplements to combat that... thanks for any insight :-)
