What Causes Intermittent Pain In Chest?

Hi, I am a 42 year old female who Over the last month but more so this week has had left sided chest pain on and off with one episode across my chest 2 days ago. My Ecg showed t wave inversion in leads 1,2 &3 and my Gp is referring me to a cardiologist after seeing him this Friday. My question is, I am still having the left sided chest pain and have had no bloods etc. knowing I could be waiting weeks for the referral should I be having bloods tests. Should I just ignore the chest pain, should I exercise? Thanks
