What Causes Intermittent Pain In Knee?

I am a wrestler, I was in a match when i was slammed down. My knee hit the mat on the side hard. Since then it doesn't hurt at all when its not touched but when ever it is hit at all it hurts very bad. It will stop hurting after like 2 minutes or so but if it is hit again it will hurt bad again.
