What Causes Intermittent Pain On Foot?

Broke my foot dec. 6, cast put on dec. 16th but no new x-rays taken. Have pain still off & on in top of my foot when I walk or turn etc. Supposed to be removed in 4 days. Is there something wrong that I am still having pain on the top of my foot?
