What Causes Intermittent Periods In The Mid Of The Menstruation?

I've been taking Femulen for a couple of years and have experienced heavy/multiple bleeds on a semi regular basis throughout. But it has got worse in the last few months. Currently I'm on period nummber 3 within the past 5 weeks, each is heavy and lasts for a full week. Whats going on?
