What Causes Intermittent Sharp Pain In Scalp, Cold And Headaches?

I have intermittent localize sharp pains in my scalp - top, left side - 2 days Ibuprophin has helped at first but not now. I also have a terrible cold that started 3 days ago and has moved into my chest. My reading suggests that these types of headaches can be associated with colds and flu - or maybe something more serious. Has happened a few times in the past. My neck does feel tight. How might I treat this. I can t concentrate or sleep.
