What Causes Irregular Menstruation After Child Birth?

I gave birth April of last year. Now my period was normal it came every month. But I had it for five days instead of seven. It started skipping December I had it January and it skipped February I usually get it on the 24th of every month. Can you please explain to me why this is happening?
