What Causes Irregular Menstruation And Pap Smear Result Of Abnormality?

I had a pap smear done last month because my period has been irregular for the past 6 months. Arriving 2-3 weeks late every month. The pap smear came back abnormal. Abnormal epithelial cells. (ascus). I am negative for HPV. I have no other known health issues. My dr. adviced me to come back in 3 more months to do another papsmear. This month my period started on time. But lasted longer than usual, 6days. (Usually it is 4days). However i got my period again 2weeks later (the same month) this time my period lasted 3 days. Ive never had 2 periods in 1 month. Should i wait the requested 3 months to see my dr or should I make an appointment now And tell the Dr about my bleeding?Also, what could be causing these problems for me?
