What Causes Irregular Menstruation?

My periods have been going crazy lately. I have no idea why (not sexually active) , like for example I got my period in august, then again in october, but not november, then again in december, I did notice that they were very light. In august my period lasted a week and was pretty heavy. Usually my period is heavy and lasts from 3-7 days. Today I have been experiencing bad cramps and lower back pain. There is brown (hardly noticeable) blood coming out of my vagina. Sometimes I get very painful pains in the pubic bone. I have been very tired lately and there have been days where I just want to sleep all day.
