What Causes Irregular Periods And Spotting After Having Unsafe Sex?

Good evening, l am a 48 years old woman.l no longer have a regular monthly period. However, 2 days after unprotected sex I started to have very light spotting and it has continued for almost a week. What is going on? Could it be an infection or implantation bleeding? Thanks
