What Causes Irregular Periods With Very Light Bleeding?

I had been having abnormal periods, where I would miss 2 months. Then once I got normal periods, and now this month I got it but its lighter than usual and does not hurt. For me, I normally do get period cramps so I dont know why its so light and no pain. I have got ultasounds and blood tests done, no cysts or anything.
