What Causes Irregular Periods?

hi,i'm having a irregular period,my period came before time after taking just two contraceptives and it went on for more than a week,after it stoped it came back but just spoting for two weeks, my doc prescribed norcolut 5mg 3 times a day for 10 days, will my period come again after it is finish?
