What Causes Irregular Periods?

hi. i am 26 years old i am getting periods when i was 14 years old they were regular till now. but from last few moths its irregular. instead of 28 days they happen 33 or 35 days. i was sexually active from last 1 year. but became inactive from 3- 4 months. whats the reason for irregularity
