What Causes Irregular Periods?

Hi I am Pooja 25 yr old. I am having irregular menstrual cycle. my last menstrual date was 10th april...after that it dint arrived....i cant figure out whats wrong...i even took pregnancy test but it shows i m not pregnant....can you please help me out wid this problem?
