What Causes Irregular Vaginal Bleeding And Spotting While On Camila?

I am on Camila birth control, I have been on it for a month and a half, and I have been spotting and bleeding irregularly. I was on Sprintec before this, and had no problems. Was switched because of possible high blood pressure issues. I have been sexually active, but the last time I had sex was in September, and I haven't had any signs of pregnancy or issues since. I take the pill every morning at 7 AM on the dot (as requested) but I still have had two periods since being on the pill, and spotting between, my gyno wants me to take a pregnancy test (and I plan to) but is this normal to bleed and spot consistently on Camila?
