What Causes Irregularities In Periods?

hi doc, i have had my contaceptive coil for nearly 4 years now, my periods have been irregular. some times i start early then im suppose to and it usually last between 7-10 days, however this month, ive been on my period for nearly 2 weeks. i have been stressed a little and wondering if that was the reason why. please help....
