What Causes Irritation In Anal Opening?

I have a bit of irritation near the end of my back passage. I have used the other two creams with no success but this time my GP has prescribed Daktacort cream. It has written on the leaflet that this cream can be used just externally. Can I still use it internally or the pharmacist has made a mistake, many thanks?
