What Causes Itchiness Of Feet With Raise In Blood Sugar Level?

I have a problem with the soles of my feet itching occasionally. I'm diabetic but my A1C is 6.5 and it's never been high. I've been diabetic for about 10 years and when my feet itch it drives me crazy. It does not appear to be a fungus or anything but I worry that it's the beginning of diabetic neuropathy.
