What Causes Itching Along With Yellow Discharge From Ears?

Hi I ve had a myringoplasty surgury and I have a pack in my ear, it s getting really itchy and leaking a yellow discharge, is this normal. I also work with children and due to go back to work in a couple of days but my scab fell of and the skin is quite raw, do you suggest I can go back to work or to have some more time off.
