What Causes Itching And Burning Sensation On The Arm?

I have a really itchy arm that I have suffering from for about a week and a half. It feels like my arm is on fire. My grand daughter visited me from Australia just be fore Christmas ans said she had had Scabies, but was using a cream to get rid of them. Could this be what I have? It is keeping me up at night with the itching and seems to be traveling to my other arm and head.
