What Causes Itching,swelling And Thick And White Vaginal Discharge?

Hi, I am 20 years old and for the past few days I have noticed that around my clit area, it is peeling, itchy, and a little swollen. Also I have always had a lot of vaginal discharge, but my doctor has said that is nothing to be concerned about. It is normally white and thick, right before and after my period. It is becoming more and more uncomfortable though. I am not dry down there either. It feels like I am always "wet". I was checked for STD's a few months ago and have had no new sex partners since then so I am certain that is not the case. I have not changed body wash or anything. What could this be? It is starting to really bother me.
