What Causes Itchy And Inflamed Skin Around Clitoris?

I'm 22 years old. For several weeks I've had itchy, inflamed skin in the area around my clitoris. Sometimes it gets so raw it will bleed a little. It starts to get better but then when me and my huband have sex it comes back. I haven't really had any unusual discharge. I'm trying to keep the area as dry as possible and use cotton underwear. I'm taking Flagyl for a possible c-section incision infection and I was hopeful this would help "cure" this too but so far it hasn't helped. Any ideas what this could be? It's getting miserable!
