What Causes Itchy Raw Patch On The Palm Of Hand?

I have a raw patch on the palm of my hand that started with the over use of a stapler , it is raw and has times wherever itches badly also gets very sore if in water or I d using hand too much . It s in the perfect spot to be bothered by using knives or the steering wheel on the car .
