What Causes Itchy Red Lumps On The Torso?

I have been getting the odd tiny red lump on my body since late December and they are itchy. It started with a rash on my torso about 1 inch by 2 inches - it went and now they are the size of a pin head but only a couple at a time now but they are itchy. what could they be
