What Causes Itchy, Swollen And Stiff Finger?

I have the middle finger of the left hand extremely itchy, swollen, and stiff. Two weeks ago I had the same thing happen to my index finger same hand but it eventually resolved itself. I did use some triamcinolone cream that stopped the itching. However, I m afraid it might be rheumatoid arthritis. What could it be?
