What Causes Itchy Throat Along With Cough On Exposure To Bleach?

I cleaned with bleach and had a headache for a few days, then a small scratchy throat. A couple days later, I developed a bad caugh and cold symptoms. At first I thought it was just a cold, but now I think it was due to the bleach. Should I be alarmed?
