What Causes Itchy Vagina While Using Nuva Ring?

Hi, it's the 2nd month Im using NuvaRing and 2 days ago my inner side of the vagina started itching and now it even hurts a little. I assumed it's Candida. What else could it be? I bought tablets as a treatment and I dunt know whether I should leave the nuvaring in it's place or pull it out.
