What Causes Itchy White Heads On Face, Head And Ears?

I have tiny white beads or grains on my face, head and ears. My face will itch and when i look i find those. I won t let my 6yr old son touch me because I m afraid he ll get it, and it hurts him. So because of it, I m now in a dark deep depression. I don t leave my home now. I ve read that it could be hair and face mites and that doctors can t do anything about it. Is this true? If so should I keep my son away? Please help me.
