What Causes Itchy Yellow Spots On Top Of The Head?

I have these yellowish spots on top of my head and my barber noticed them. I had them checked by my doctor and she said they looked like age spots. My father also had these on his head. should i be concerned. they itch every now and then especially after being in the sun.
