What Causes Knee Pain While Getting Up In The Morning?

Having knee pain, when I first get up in the morning knee wants to buckle then it will click and it seems to be more functional. Pain seems to be in the back of the knee but the knee joint feels tight. Any thoughts?? Torn meninskis?? Still working out every morning with it but not very comfortable. Feels tight to bend.
