What Causes Labor Like Contraction On My Hips And Neck?

Hi I am 36 years old and have had this problem off and on for several years. I have a daughter that is 14 and the only way I know to explain the symptoms are like labor contractions only backwards. They start at my hips and go up to my neck getting stronger by the second. The only way to make them go away is to be completely still. I have IBS and take Xanax for that which has worked for the last 5 years. It does seem to get somewhat worse after food but not a lot. The contractions are so tight that I can't breathe and my blood pressure goes sky high. Right now my dr has me on bed rest till he can research who to send me to.
