What Causes Large White Tissue Discharge With Severe Bleeding While Being Off Birth Control?

I was on birth control (apri) for one month before my doctor asked me to stop taking them. I stopped taking them and 3 days later i saw stringy brown discharge everytime i wiped. The fourth day there was dark red blood. then i started getting a lot of pain. The pain just increased and would not go away. It was the most painful thing in the world. my mom said it was similar to labor pain. i passed blood clots. and then i felt the most painful thing in the world and i go to the bathroom and sitting on my pad is this white tissue like thing covered in blood and it was the size of my palm. we took it to the er and they were unable to identify it. they sent it to the pathology but no response yet. after passing it i felt relief and the bleeding lessened and the pain was gone. I have polycystic ovarian syndrome thats why i was asked to take birth control pills. please help!
