What Causes Late Period With Burning And Urge?

Hi I had a tubalization done 2 yrs ago. My period is a week late with some prickling pain but not real bad. Now feel like I have a kidney infection, the burn and urge feeling. I have done a pregnancy test its neg. Could this be just a kidney infection.
