What Causes Left Abdominal Pain At Navel Level?

I have been experiencing pain on the left side of my abdomen at navel level since last night. It is fairly consistent and hurts when I get up and down. I had a kidney stone once and this is similar in pain level but does not radiate or move. should I go to emergency room or wait for pain to get more severe?
