What Causes Left Sided Lower Abdominal Pain?

the past few days i have been getting a pain on the lower left side of my tummy and yesterday the pain move to the bottom of my tummy and when ever i try to pass gas or try to caugh i would hurt more. this morning when i get up it was hurting a little more than yesterday. could this mean im pregnant???
