What Causes Light Bleeding And Dark Thick Blood Discharge?

I am used to having irregular periods. well last month I didn't have my period well yesterday i had very light bleeding then that night I had alot of this very dark and thick blood come out and i cramped really bad when this happend. did i miscarried?
