What Causes Light Bleeding With Negative HPT?

Hello Iam trying to concieve and a week ago I stopped my bc. However for the last three days I feel full all the time and today out of the blue I started lightly bleeding dark blood and now spotting pinkish blood but not enough for a maxi pad and I have no cramps or pain. In addition I took a hpt and it was negative. What could this be.
