What Causes Light Headedness Along With Shortness Of Breath?

I have IBS, and the other day I woke up with very very bad chest pains to the point I felt light headed and short of breath and almost like I was going to pass out. The pains has stopped, but I have a weird feeling in my chest which I researched and have learned are called heart paplitations. Could this have anything to do with IBS or gas??
