What Causes Light Menstruation Along With Severe Cramps?

My period was one day late, I am on the pill however my periods are usually very heavy. This is the lightest period that I ve had so far, the cramping is still the same however. Is pregnancy a possibility? I haven t had sex with my partner however his penis did go near my vagina. Help!
