What Causes Light Periods Along With Severe Abdominal Cramps?

I was sexually active three or so weeks ago we did not use protection and im not sure if im on my period Because i had bad cramps yet the blood came out so lightly then when i used the bathroom no blood came out and im usually very heavy ,should i be worried?
