What Causes Light Periods?

Hello, I am 30 years old and have always had a very heavy flow period. Im on birth control and use condoms.This time my period had been very light the entire time so far, basically like brown goup coming out instead of fresh heavy flow blood. Should I be concerned? No cramping, no big stressed or changes and I feel fine.
