What Causes Lightheadedness While On Topamax?

My daughter (17) gets lightheaded and says her brain felt like it is being squeezed and released, lasts about a minute or so. She says its like she is in a fog. She has been taking topamax, is this a side effect? The topamax is not for headaches, trying it as a mood stabilizer.
