What Causes Little White And Purple Bugs On My Skin?

Little white and purple bugs that are in skin and you can see legs sticking out. I'm a can and allll my patients have them but I want to find out what they are before I file a report. Most of these people are elderly and get the around their eyes, lips, arms and now I'm getting it. So it's obviously contagious...please help!
