What Causes Loss Of Brain Function And Seizures Post Stent Placement In Heart?

My husband had a widow maker heart attack the next day he was awake talking doing well they put a stint in.over the next week he lost brain function and was having seizures.how could he be awake and alert then loose brain function.is there anything like delayed brain injury
