What Causes Lump In Armpit?

I have a bump in the middle of my armpit. It is very sore. I have had one here or there over my life span all around my menstrual cycle. It hurts for a day or two, you can see the bump and then goes away. Should I see a doctor. I m pretty sure by the time i go the bump will be gone
