What Causes Lump Near Collar Bone And Shoulder Pain?

My doctor told my I have either a lipoma or a swollen lymph node near/on my collar bone. It has been painful like a swollen muscle for over a year. Recently it has become more painful, especially when I wake up in the morning. I am now newly experiencing pain below the shoulder on the outside of my arm. I have no idea if this is related. My doctor told me I could get a biopsy if I am concerned. He didn t seem to be concerned. Do you think this new pain constitutes action?
