What Causes Metallic Taste Post Head Injury?

I hit the front of my head very hard on the cabinet last Wed. I hit so hard that my teeth shook. I did not have any of the symptoms listed for a concussion however several days later I did have a metallic taste but it went away. I did not go to the doctors, however I am wondering if I should have a cat scan for peace of mind.
