What Causes Mid-cycle Menstruation?

I am 39 with regular menstrual cycles. I started my period two weeks ago and yesterday I started again. I take hydroxyzine pam 25 mg at night to help me sleep. I do not take it every night, but was taking it regularly, but haven t taken it for the past week or so. Could this have anything to do with the mid-cycle period I have?
