What Causes Mild Chest Pain After Taking Laxative For Constipation?

For the past 2 weeks I ve had constipation (at least it s what my doctor said) and was prescribed a form of laxative to loosen stool. So far it s been ineffective. As of last night I now have a mild ache in the centre of my chest which is only there whilst laying down. What could this be?
