What Causes Mottled Skin On Arm And Chest Along With Breathlessness?

My husband has developed mottling of his skin on his arms and chest along with excruciating body ache and shortness of breath within the last couple of days. He went to a walk in in clinic today and the doctor told him his lungs were clear and prescribed an antibiotic for a cough he has had for 3 days. Nothing was noted about the skin mottling. What problem can these symptoms be for?
